Ugolini Vini successfully completed its tenth participation in the Merano Wine Festival 2024, bringing home 3 Gold Medals and leading Valpolicella to Europe's salon of good wine.
The 33rd Merano Wine Festival, one of the most distinguished events on the international wine and food scene, has ended. From 8 to 12 November 2024, the city of Merano hosted producers, journalists, experts and wine enthusiasts from all over the world, attracting more than 10.000 attendees, including Ugolini Vini, which is celebrating its 10th year of participation in the event. A celebration that underscores the importance of the Venetian company as an ambassador of Valpolicella Classica and its winemaking tradition.
Ugolini Vini: ten years of Merano Wine Festival
Throughout a ten-year participation, Ugolini Vini has always brought the best of Valpolicella to the Merano Wine Festival, proudly representing its land and its most prestigious wines. This year, the winery displayed some of its most iconic labels, including Valpolicella Classico DOC “Pozzetto” 2020, Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC “San Michele” 2016, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG “Valle Alta” 2015 and Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOCG “Valle Lena” 2019. Each bottle tells a story of passion, research and respect for the terroir, but also of adjustment to modern challenges.
“We are very pleased with how this event turned out” - says Giambattista Ugolini, owner of Ugolini Vini – “The Merano Wine Festival has a unique appeal because it manages to turn the whole city into a big stage, with widespread events and tastings involving every corner of Merano. It's always a pleasure to attend such inspiring events and to have the opportunity to be a gateway for Valpolicella even in high-profile settings like this one.”
An edition full of meetings and benchmarks
The Merano Wine Festival 2024 distinguished itself not only for the quality of its products, but also for its unique concept of connecting the world of wine with that of gastronomy, culture and information. Between the discussion lounges, in-depth masterclasses and glamorous events, the milestone offered an important chance for exchange, discussion and growth.
This year, the festival focused on crucial issues for the future of the wine industry, with the theme “Quo Vadis?” which invited producers and experts to reflect on issues such as climate change, sustainability and the need for innovation in viticulture. It was a debate that also saw Ugolini Vini at the heart of it, engaged in discussions on the challenges and opportunities the sector faces to continue growing responsibly and sustainably.
A ten-year period of success and new challenges
With the edition just concluded, Ugolini Vini strengthens its connection with the Merano Wine Festival, proving that success is built on a mix of passion, commitment and the ability to innovate. The 10th anniversary of attendance is not a goal, but a starting point toward new challenges and opportunities.
Having concluded an extraordinary edition that celebrated the best of winemaking and gastronomy, our focus is already on the future: the 34th edition, scheduled for November 6 to 11 2025, promises to be even richer and more ambitious, adding an extra day to deepen and fully enjoy the unique festival experience.
